The visit of the Russian president Uladzimir Putin to Misk (who proposed Belarus to join the Russian Federation) compels to state that the independence of Belarus is under the real threat.
With negotiations under the cover of “union state”, “common budget” and so on as well as with full approval of Lukashenka’s regime Moscow involves Belarus in Russian military interests, seizes Belarusian properties. This process is accompanied by the policy of “assimilation”, limitation of the usage of the Belarusian language, extermination of the national culture, closing of the Belarusian institutions and repressions against those who dare to defend national treasures. Rada BDR reminds that according to the agreement of withdrawal of nuclear weapons from Belarus Great Britain and the United States of America took the responsibility to guarantee the sovereignty of Belarus. Belarus awaits discharge of these responsibilities from these countries, but the real guarantee is Belarusian nation consciousness of its right to independence. Rada BDR supports everyone who these days defends Belarusian sovereignty under the white-red-white flags. |
