Honor to Heroes of the Popular Gomel Uprising ( Slutsk Armed Rising) |

November 29, 2008 a requiem mass to do honors to the heroes of the Slutsk Armed rising was offered at Belarusian Cemetery in East Brunswick, NJ. The mass was served by archpriest Zinovij. After the cross and wreath consecration they were placed at the obelisk in honor of all lost fighters to free Belarus.
Then Dr. Zianon Pazniak Chairman of the Conservative Christian Party addressed a meeting. He spoke about the significance of Slutsk Armed Rising for the present. He hoped that the date of November 27th will become a national holiday in the future.
On November 30 at St. Cyril's of Turau Cathedral in Brooklyn Holy Mass and Requiem mass to do honors to the heroes of the Slutsk Armed rising was served by archpriest Father Mikhail.
After the mass and refreshments the parishioners and guests had an opportunity to meet Zianon Pazniak Chairman of the Conservative Christian Party BNF. Zianon Pazniak talked about the events in Slutsk; Anton Shukeloc supplemented Pozniak's story. Those present remembered the heroes of our Motherland and their great deeds.
