On January 31, 2010 the Third Annual Literary Award the Truth about the Holocaust and Stalinist Repression ceremony took place at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York.
The nominees’ selection for the Third Annual Award Ceremony "The Truth about Holocaust and Stalinist Repression" included Dr. Alexander Rashin and his daughter who created 15 original drawings revealing the truth about the Holocaust and Stalinist Repression.
The hall of the museum gathered together survivors and eyewitnesses of the tragic events of the 20th century. The speakers reminded the importance of keeping in mind the Holocaust and Stalinist Repressions as well as all the innocent people who perished.
The great hall of the museum displayed an art exhibition of Belarusian artists including 15 oil paintings. It is well-known during the WWII about a million of the Jewish population perished at the territory of Belarus.
The exhibition presented the works of the great Belarusian artists Genadz Drazdou, Ales Marachkin, Yanka Romanovitch, Ales and Julia Shaternik, sculptor from New Jersey Emil Zilberman. The Belarusian art works fit the mood of those present. The canvas by Genadz Drazdou opened the display. It was an image of a mournful figure, half human, half angel.
The exhibition was organized by the Belarusian museum in New York. The realization of such an exhibition became possible thanks to great support of the Belarusian museum in New York, its active members, Belarusian Diaspora and the Prakhin International Literary Foundation. It should be noted that the Prakhin International Literary Foundation was founded by Lyudmila Prakhina, her sons, Boris and Michael and their families. Its mission is to provide financial and moral support to authors engaged in the global fight for democracy, peace, equality of all races and cultures, and the suppression and eradication of fascism and anti-Semitism. |
