On April, 21 in New York a ceremonial transfer of the bust of Vasil Bykau to Columbia University will take place. The ceremony will start at 12.30 p.m. this Wednesday.
Belarusian Museum in New York
Late last year the Belarusian Museum in New York and representatives of the Belarusian Diaspora agreed to donate the bust of one of the most well-known Belarusian writers Vasil Bykau (Belarusian Conscience as they call him in Belarus), to one of the most famous universities in New York. The bust of the writer will be installed in the famous library Low Memorial Library of Columbia University.
And finally, this symbolic to Belarusian Diaspora and, perhaps, to all Belarusians of the world event will take place next Wednesday (April 21, 2010).
The opening will be attended by the sculptor and painter Ales Shaternik, who is now visiting the United States, and the chairman of the Belarusian Institute of Science and Art Vitaut Kipel.
We invite all Belarusians of New York and the suburbs to take part in the solemn ceremony and spread the word among the friends and acquaintances.
